I’m sure this film was made with great care and love, BUT what it lacked most, for me, was BREATH. Opera singers learn to control their breathing in order to win ours. And I agree with other less favorable reviews that the opening scene was a really bad example of lip-synching, especially since I couldn’t see Miss Jolie breathing! Sure, Callas lived a glamorous life, but I felt that in this film the focus was more visual. This is the movie that made me stop watching until the end and I regret it.
